In the early days of love, so often, you…
naturally make time for each other…
listen deeply…
laugh more…
notice the tiny things that light your sweetheart up…
plan special things…
put in just a little extra effort…
…because it feels wonderful to do so.
And these simple, thoughtful gestures are often what helped you fall in love in the first place:
-
- long, present conversations
- paying attention to how you can make each other’s day
- doing sweet and thoughtful things
- making time for one another, no matter how busy life was
- prioritizing fun
- giving each other your best and seeing the best in one another
However, somewhere along the way, as life gets full and routines take over, it’s easy for even the most loving couples to slip into autopilot.
It doesn’t usually happen on purpose, and it occurs gradually.
Responsibilities take over.
Distractions multiply.
Connection, presence, and joy can slowly take a backseat.
And yet…
…the very same things that helped you fall in love are still the things that almost always keep love thriving.
Every day truly offers a new beginning and chance to nurture your connection.
Even a small shift can begin to bring back warmth, closeness, and the joy of being a team.
Therefore, this is a loving invitation to take a few moments to quietly reflect on the below…
1. What are some of the things you did for your beloved in your early days because you knew it mattered to your relationship and to them? List a few…
2. How did you communicate with your beloved in your early days? What adjectives would you use to describe yourself as both a listener and a talker? List them here…
3. On a scale of 1 to 10, how present were you in the early days? To what degree did you prioritize your sweetheart and the relationship?
4. Review your responses above and compare it to now. How have things changed? Do you think your partner would appreciate you bringing some of these things back into the relationship?
Of course, you can also do this together during date night. It can actually be quite sweet to remember the thoughtfulness and intention you both poured into your love.
We simply encourage you to be compassionate with yourself and each other…
…and to focus on the amazing opportunity to recommit to creating the best relationship moving forward and to sprinkling your moments together with even more intention and magic.
In writing this, we are remembering how much we used to LOVE reading each other mystical poetry when we first got together, and we have decided it’s been way too long since we did.
Therefore, we just put this book on our nightstand to add to our bedtime ritual…

Sending you lots of love as you reinvigorate from your early years!
