When I started the Thriving Relationships Show in the fall of 2022, I knew I wanted to eventually have an expert guest speak about addictions and relationships…
…because, over the years, I’ve seen the unique ways that addictions impact couples
…the struggle that occurs when one partner is experiencing the addiction but not yet ready to address it or get help
…the ways the partner who is trying to be supportive ends up doing the opposite of what the person experiencing the addiction actually needs
…the unhealthy roles we can fall into — withdrawing, checking out, denying, invalidating, secrecy, dishonesty, becoming hypervigilant, controlling, or falling into a codependent role where one partner becomes the depleted and exasperated caretaker.
Nikki Myers is the perfect person to share her deep, compassionate, soulful, wise, integrative, and holistic perspective on addictions with you, and I am so excited to introduce you to her and to invite you to tune in.
Nikki is an internationally beloved speaker and teacher and Founder of the Yoga of 12-Step Recovery, an addictions relapse prevention program that weaves the art and science of yoga with the practical tools of 12-step programs and that has rapidly become a feature of addiction recovery treatment centers.
Nikki’s work has been celebrated in the New York Times, Black Enterprise, The Huffington Post, Origin Magazine, CBS news, and countless other places. She was named a Yoga Journal Game Changer and has been a keynote speaker at prominent places like the International Conference on Integrative Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
